Disclaimer:
Hi. I'm Tamara
Johnson
Author of "Pull
Yourself Out of the Mud: Know and Love Who You Are
and Get MORE out of Life." Thank you for visiting
my blog - GetOutoftheMud.com
I'm really glad
you came because I have a lot to offer you in the
direction of bringing more good into your life through
knowing who you are as a woman, understanding yourself
and loving the woman you become through this process.
But before you
start exploring my blog, I invite you to consider
some important realities.
First,
while I provide my best tools for teaching you how
to be your own therapist, there are some situations
where it would be inappropriate for you to use a
resource such as this one in place of seeking the
assistance of a qualified mental health professional.
If you have
been diagnosed with a Major Mental Disorder, the
advice you find at this blog must never be a substitute
for the advice you receive from your doctor or therapist.
I recommend you share the fact that you are learning
from me with your mental health provider. If you
find conflicting advice, always discuss the conflict
in your treatment.
Second,
while I have applied the system you will find here
with my clients who have struggled with severe traumatic
histories, the fact remains that healing took place
based on the safety I provided in the real-life,
face-to-face relationship. Sometimes, while you
are learning the system I will offer you, your experiences
of trauma will resurface. Most of the time, this
kind of work is impossible to negotiate alone. If
you are feeling like hurting yourself it is extremely
important to get in-person help right away. Suicidal
feelings are an indication that the face-to-face
relationship is required for you to safely negotiate
the healing process.
Again,
if you are having suicidal thoughts, get real-life,
in person, face-to-face assistance immediately.
Third,
the principles in the system I provide will be most
helpful and most readily useful to average, healthy
women who do not suffer from diagnosable mental
disorders. What I provide in this blog is not therapy.
Again, even with the highest quality of information
available from a blog, it cannot replace qualified
in-person, face-to-face therapy to deal with serious
issues. Can it serve as an adjunct? Yes. Can it
be a replacement? No.
Finally,
let me tell you what this show is! It is a good
resource for answers and support regarding common
concerns women experience in day-to-day situations.
It is an excellent adjunct resource if you are in
therapy in much the same way a book would assist
your growth while you attend therapy with a trained
professional. It is an excellent self-help resource!
It is a place where you will be invited to explore
those issues that are most important to women today.
It is all of the tools and principles I provide
to clients in my private practice. The tools and
principles of well-being are the very same tools
and principles every healthy woman uses to keep
her life in balance, whether or not she realizes
she is her own therapist!
So, thank you
for taking the time to listen and let's Get Out
of the Mud!
